Autodesk
Map 3D
Price Download
Autodesk Map® 3D software, the leading platform for creating and editing
spatial data, delivers practical mapping functionality to engineers and
geospatial professionals who need an open and flexible way to integrate
CAD (computer-aided design) and GIS (geographic information system)
information. Autodesk Map 3D complements existing GIS implementations by
providing read and write access to a wide variety of geospatial data
sources. Using a spatial data file, smaller workgroups gain many of the
benefits of an RDBMS (relational database management system) without the
investment and complexity typically associated with one. Autodesk Map 3D
enables quick loading, editing, and management of huge geospatial data
sets and automates entire workflows from geospatial data creation through
web and intranet publishing
Autodesk Map 3D software is intended for GIS managers, GIS specialists,
mapping technicians, planners, and facilities and infrastructure designers
and managers. It’s intended for anyone who creates, maintains, and produces
maps, designs infrastructure, uses map data for analysis and planning, or
integrates data in varying types and file formats. Such data may include
vector or raster files in a variety of mapping formats, as well as database
(both geometry with Oracle® Spatial and attribute data) information from
different sources. Users typically work with multiple drawings and large
data sets.
The
industries that benefit most from Autodesk Map 3D are utilities (electric,
gas, water), communications, government agencies, environmental engineering,
oil and gas, agriculture, and natural resources. Autodesk Map 3D is suitable
for any application that requires management or design of resources or
infrastructure in a precision graphical environment
Autodesk Map 3D has the strengths of AutoCAD but also gives you the power to
manage your maps more efficiently. Are you are losing valuable time waiting
for data to be delivered from outside your department? Or is your team stuck
in the ineffective process of waiting for DWG files to become available?
Autodesk Map 3D solves these issues and many more, making you more efficient
and more productive. Most important, it keeps you ahead of the competition
with better data management processes.
Autodesk Map 3D cleans up CAD drawings quickly and easily, and helps
eradicate duplication and wrong information. You can build classifications,
which enable you to create reports that adhere to any standard. With
Autodesk Map 3D, multiple users can simultaneously query across multiple DWG
files and immediately see updates and changes, accelerating project
completion. And, you can simply drag various data into your projects in
their native formats, including ODBC and SHP, without translation.
GIS
or mapping professionals generally work with larger data sets than typical
AutoCAD users. These data sets often consist of multiple maps in a wide
variety of data types and file formats. You may need to overlay or tile
multiple files that represent different groups of business assets and
infrastructure elements. You need georeferencing to precisely align files
coming from different coordinate systems.
Such
professionals also require spatial analysis capabilities, as well as
presentation and plotting tools that are not typically used in traditional
design work. Because you perform more data integration tasks, you can make
use of the full GIS functionality available in Autodesk Map 3D software. In
addition, Autodesk Map 3D provides powerful productivity and analysis tools
not available in AutoCAD software for working with both vector and attribute
data
Autodesk’s new spatial data file (SDF) is a powerful single file that
provides many of the capabilities of a relational database (RDBMS). Each SDF
file can contain multiple geometry types (lines, polygons, and points) as
well as feature attributes. A spatial data file enables you to organize and
manage your data as GIS features, providing a solid foundation for a smooth
transition to an RDBMS in the future if the need arises
Autodesk Map 3D is the
premier tool for integrating CAD, civil engineering, and GIS. Its strength
lies in the open and flexible environment that enables you to work with
virtually any data, regardless of format. As a result, you protect your data
investment and get the full value from your existing information. DWG and
SHP formats are the most prevalent in the CAD, engineering, and GIS worlds,
and with Autodesk Map 3D, you can create, manage, and share these or just
about any industry-standard format with the precision of a CAD system. In
fact, using Autodesk Map 3D 2007, you can edit SHP files more precisely than
is possible in ESRI ArcGIS

and tables on raster images to create AutoCAD text (single-line text) or
multiline text (mtext). Use interactive verification to correct results
with dictionary matching. OCR saves manual data entry time and improves
accuracy when converting drawings with lots of text.
- Raster data analysis—Represent and analyze DEMs and multispectral
satellite imagery in new and powerful ways. Use the Raster Query tools to
obtain point information for elevation, slope, and aspect from DEMs and
reflectance values from multispectral imagery. Import both ASCII and
binary format ESRI GRID files into your session.
- Color
mapping—Visually analyze and query DEMs and satellite imagery to assist
with better decision making
